How did Religion in England Change, 

1530–1570? 

  

In this assignment, you will need to describe what changes happened in religion in England.

However you choose to write your account, you must remember to write about:

  • The differences in beliefs between Protestants and Catholics;

  • The way church buildings changed inside in the period;

  • The different policies of the different monarchs, from Henry VIII to Edward VI to Mary to Elizabeth.

Imagine that it is 1570, and that you are an old person who has gone to church all your life.   Explain to your grandchildren all the ways the church has changed over the last 40 years.

Write in four different paragraphs about:

  • How people’s beliefs changed.

  • How the church buildings changed.

  • What happened to the monasteries.

  • How religion changed from one monarch to the next, and what happened.
